One of my first solo hunts in 1983 I missed one of these.
It's been 35 years since I've seen one wild in the woods.
Chest to back height is only 4" Length at 11.25" not including head or tail.
Tail measured 11.25" Going to make an awsome full body mount.

Scouting southern Idaho 3 years ago a friend and I happened across a Fox right at dusk. It looked different from all the foxes I had seen before and I was 50/50 the season wasn't open.
He thought it was but the regs we're back in the truck. It sat there at 20 yards for another 30 seconds then took off.

Once we got out of the mountains I researched it. Season WAS open. The Fox was a "silver fox" only 2% of foxes in Idaho are silver foxes. Buddy still hasn't forgiven me.

Thanks for sharing. I'm kinda torn on the whole fox thing. I'm a dog kinda guy. Cats, meh, haha. It's hard for me to even shoot coyotes. But, awesome for you. I really enjoyed your video...

I always questioned if "managing" predators was really effective. I've been working one property that has experienced a decline in their quail, turkey, and (road runner - non game species) in harvesting several coyotes. After 3 years we've gone from 1-2 Turkeys first year on game cams during spring season. To a few a week last year during spring season. Now we're getting groups of them almost every other day.

Now this could be nature itself. But the land owner has a strict shoot every hog, coyote and Coon in sight (all egg eaters). He fully believes this is why the Turkeys are back. Unfortunately, we believe we've lost our quail population. We're also seeing more and more road runners again.

I didn't know wile E. coyote ever caught the road runner. BEEP! BEEP! LOL:) Our Quail are gone also not many foxes. I read a report that hawks, coons, skunks, and coyotes are the main reasons they have declined. I try to do my part on the coons, skunks and coyotes. I remember growing up in the 50s all the quail hunters shot hawks when they could.

Didn't know that about hawks.... I see them but not too regularly. Primarily because I scan eye level.

Several years ago we were on a road trip , on I 55 in MO. going south. Don't remember what time of the year it was. No leaves on the trees. Out of boredom we started counting Hawks on power lines in trees and fences. We counted over 200 in a 100 miles. Now that is just what we could see from the road. No telling how many were out there. Nothing could get by them
