Nosler incompetence??

nah, I've tried that before, and lost...
The conversations are not from rookie shooters, they like me, have tried every trick in the book with poor results.
It's across every bullet line with the exception of the custom comp.
The guys commenting on theses post, are guys you don't see asking about accuracy problems on these forums. They are the ones who can help.
Plus, following PRS and longrange comp stats, you don't see the RDFs winning very many, if any matches.
I guess those of us that have had good results must be blowing smoke! ;) must be our magic barrels haha

Maybe, or it could be they shot well for you. But for the majority, they didn't meet our standards. That's all.
Pretty simple explanation really.

Ya I know. Just saying they do work well for some. I loaded up 4 last week and put them into .5 moa at 914 yards. The 110 mk still smokes the rdf in the bc department and I may switch back to them again. I've actually found the bc for the 105 rdf to be right on which is wierd coming from nosler after years of inflated numbers.
Hopefully they fix whatever makes them difficult in other rifles. At least there are lots and lots of options for 6.5 these days.

I was able to get the 140s to about 3/4 Moa. That's with a rifle that's a true 1/2 Moa gun with 130, and 140 Bergers.
Same with the 140 ELD. I've tried multiple seating depths, Lapua, Norma and Hornady brass, is about the same.
I really wanted them to shoot, because my calculated BC is .685.
It really didn't bother me until I revisited my 130 Hybrid load, and was stacking one right on top of the other.
I decided, I would give the 130 RDF a try, so I posted a question on another forum, and the response was enlightening. No 130s until they fix them.

I shot these groups last Monday getting a new scope centered. 140 RDFs out of my 6.5x284 averaging about 3125fps. ETA: a lased 102 yards.

Rear bag and a bipod shooting out of the back of my pick-up. My goal was to get my scope centered...for me, they seem to be working...

I get groups like like the target with the flier with the 140 RDF, with a rifle that puts Berger and Hornadys into groups like the target with the number three in it.

I've really only shot a handful of groups with 140 RDF, a seating depth test and a short powder charge work up. Only tried one powder.
This is out of a factory Savage barrel that is barely broken-in prone off of a bipod ( I SUCK AT BIPOD SHOOTING).

So i feel good about them so far. It seems that they don't like to be close to the lands or jammed.

200 yards.

I've read of people shooting RDFs with large jumps compared. I think on Accurate shooter someone posted that 50-60 thou got him a nice group. I don't remember what caliber or cartridge though.....

I've had luck jumping the 140s as well, in a 6.5 Creedmoor. Just this last weekend I completed a seating depth test and got great data showing around .060-.070 jump to be the sweet spot for my barrel

I was able to get the 140s to shoot 3/4ish Moa by jumping them 40 thou, in my Savage Creed right around 2750fps in Norma brass. I couldn't get better than a 1" in Hornady and Lapua brass.
I'm using Hex boron nitride, and just cruising at 2750 fps.
I really don't like shoving my rifles hard, but I could go up quite a bit, I feel a hex coated bullet in a 24" could be pushed another 100 fps. I can run a 140 Berger or ELD @ 2750fps and get under 1/2" Moa, and maintain sub Moa to 1000 yards. Same with the 130 Hybrid. The RDF is not even a choice for 1000 out of my rifle.
In all fairness, these bullets are some of the first ones made.
But the guys on the hide, are saying the 130 RDF is pretty bad, they like me, are fairly proficient in reloading, and they are having trouble getting anything under 1".

I haven't visited the Hide for a long time (as in years). Do they still require 10-shot groups before posting your rifle's group size?

Maybe that's the problem. All their barrels are shot out. :D

Hahahaha, some still insist on the 10 shot group.
But I don't think these guys went for the 10 shot group. But I think I'm going to stir the pot, and bring it up... lol
If the 130 RDF BC is true, which honestly, the 140 published number is a little conservative. I was using a .68 g1 to get hits at 1000. But the 130 I think, is published at .61ish I believe. Man... if I could get it to shoot and get it to 3000 fps. I would not worry about those nasty little 6mm bullets out pacing me.

I've actually found the bc for the 105 rdf to be right on which is wierd coming from Nosler after years of inflated BCs.

I read that Nosler now owns and has begun using Doppler radar to establish bullet BC values. So that would explain how - finally - we get an accurate, or at least less exaggerated, Nosler provided BC value.

Provided their Doppler unit doesn't have an "exaggerated" programming mode button...
