Calling 24” 6.5 Creed Guys

Savage 10 24"
once fired peterson ws2 coated 147. 47.3Rl26 215m 2892, 2.820. sd 3 es 6. I shot today to 300 in no wind @ 55 degrees. .625 over all for 8 shots. In 52 degrees of change since I first tested I gained 40 fps.
120smk 43.0 100V peterson 2890fps shoots to the same zero @100yd as the above. I had 24 loaded up and shot them all to recover the brass. All were virgin and I will load to 47.0 and the coated 147's to try and stay close to 2855ish. That is the money spot for my rifle with 147's.
43.0 of 4955 peterson brass 210m 2.830 142smk I shot 4 today into .355@100yds. I got errors on all 4 shots so I stopped for another time. I had cleaned between the 147's and the 120's because of the different powder. I went from the 24shots to cool then shot the screamer. We had 2 6.5's shooting 42.3H4350 and 142smk's also. 2788 for one and 2804 for the other. Both were 24" 8tw, one shillen ratchet and 1 Kreiger 5r or 6groove. Both shot well first time out.

Is the 47.3 grains of R26 what you would consider a max load?

Thats a coated bullet charge in my gun! Start at 43gns and do a ladder to find the sweet spot for your rifle. Color the ogive of your bullets with different sharpie's for each charge I use .3 grain increments. I'd use 2.820 for coal to start. In a sammi chamber this has shot well for many

Is 200 or 300 yards far enough for a ladder test? If not it's a 45 min drive to shoot further

Just finished putting together my Howa 24" barreled varmint action. HS Prec stock.
After suggested barrel break in, using Hornady factory 140 ELDM match, I was
disappointed that the MV using my Magnospeed V3 averaged 2625 fps. The
advertised FPS is 2710. Not surprised as most factory ammo doesn't meet
box MV. Haven't started reloading this 6.5 CM yet. Only 50 down the tube so far.
The Factory Hornady is accurate. Repeatable .375 MOA at 100.

I believe you should see a 100 ish FPS gain after you shoot a few hundred rounds

I had a 24in ruger. I achevied 2880 out of it with rl-17. My dad has a 22in and we were able to squeeze 2900 out of it with rl-26. But most of his loads fall around 2700-2750. I have a 26in now and I have 3 loads that it's shoots well. 42 grains of h4350 yields 2840, 42 grains of rl-17 2885 and 48 grains of rl-26 2945. All with the 140 eld-m.

Lapua brass
Cci br4
140 Berger eol
24" proof barrel
43.1gr H4350
2830 FPS

Did you ever try h4831sc? That sounds like a stout load. I may have to try 4350. I built a 25" barreled creed for a friend and he wants to push the 143 eldx at least 2850, is his goal.
