New ELR bullet

RockyMntMT, Steve, if I may, I'd be very interested in a 6mm/.243 bullet in the material that you are currently researching, or something similar. I have an older Winchester M70 Featherweight 243 Win with a 1:10 twist barrel. It will barely stabilize 100gr Hornady Interlocks and most 100gr flat based bullets. For monolithic/copper bullets I have to drop back to 80gr. maximum weight. This rifle is a perfect example of why your proposed bullet design is so important, especially in 243 Win. The rifle is an absolute tack-driver for a hunting rifle, shooting in the .3s! I found out the it has a factory installed Hart barrel on it and I ordered a second (spare) fatory threaded barrel, also a Hart, for when it shoots out. I've almost change the barrel to something else, several times over bullet selection, due to the 1:10" twist rate. I really want a much higher BC than is currently available for my rifles twist. I'm constantly torn between rebarreling a tack-driver and keeping it original and struggling with the lower BCs available. It is darn tough to find a honest .3s shooter, especially an older one! Your very heavy for length and higher BC bullets would be a prayer answered, in my case. I'm very certain that I'm not the only shooter in this boat. With a 20% denser, heavier material, 1:10" twist should easily stabilize around 110gr to 115gr weight with a significantly higher BC, in 6mm/243. That would save me a classic rifle and @ a $700 barrel replacement. That should be a good start for me towards buying your planned bullets. And, I have many different calibers of rifles that would benefit from your proposed design! Just one more thing to consider. :)

Steve. I have taken a good look at those new bullets and he has them priced at all most 4 times the cost of a comparable bullet and to me I won't buy them at that or even 1/2 of their cost..

At this point I have not been able to get them under ~$50 per bullet. I think time will make this change. I don't much want to wait though. I think I was meant to be a rich man but the money just hasn't shown up yet.
