any body shooting a 6.5x280 AI

You may want to put this in the Rifles, Bullets, Barrels & Ballistics thread and it might get some more attention. But it does sound like something that might be easy to load for with the 280AI brass you can get in stores now. I would think from a die standpoint it would a bushing die and a expander ball from a 6.5mm change out in the 280 die and your on your way to making the brass. Might need some neck turning. Sounds interesting.

Greatminds think a like. I went with redding full length bushing and the compation seater. ordered the seating stem and expander at the same time. I will use once fired brass from ny 280AI NECKED DOWN TO 6.5 AS TIGHT GO GAGE. THAT WAY I won t be buring throat to fire forn brass

I believe the shoulder is pushed ahead just a little. 3200 with a 147 is do able. 58 of rl 26 does t start up the shoulder and gives 3075

So, does that make the neck shorter?
The 280 280 ackley improved classes I been lead to believe are the longest in class. Fire forming from the 280 ackley improved could not be easier. I been told 3250 with the 147 is possible with h1000 or retumbo

100v might be more accurate but it will not be near as fast. H1000 and 7977 should be fast and stable along with retumbo. I would guess Rl26 would be quite good if you like Rl powders. The velocities and single digit es it is providing for me are welcomed.

Pretty much the same as the 6.5 Sherman. The Sherman has a very slight edge in capacity. I would try RL-26 and Retumbo.

Is this the same cat by the name of 6.5 Mulie ?

Read about it in Reloader Magazine a while back. I have a .280 Rem. Kevlar stocked Mountain rifle. I am considering the change. Is it worth the effort ?

My reamer should arrive soon, any body shooting one?
I have been shooting this wildcat for 5 years. It is an awesome rifle. What's your question? I use nosler brass necked down to 6.5, Berger hunting VLD 140 grain, 57 grains of RL26. Getting 3056 fps. Please don't start at 57 grains though. I have a Krieger barrel and a Jewell trigger.
