Wedgy; do you mind if I ask what load your using in the 243 and the volocity and group size you get?
Right now I'm using RL 25 in my 243 with 105 berger vld's with good results out of a factory 9 twist barrel. I haven't chronod em yet but I'm happy with accuracy and that they stabilize. And in theory the faster I can push em the better they should be outa my rifle, so I'm interested in the RL 26

47.5 grains of RL26 was right around 3400fps from a 7 twist 26" Fed210m 0.020" off
The Federal brass(some scrap that I used for testing) gave 40-50fps more with the same powder charge than the Win brass I ended up using. Held 1.4" at 400 yards without tuning for seating depth, neck tension, etc. but I have kind of switched most of my stuff to lead free so I'm not messing with this load that much. Kind of a shame as that load would smash our smaller coastal deer, but welcome to California;
pay more and get less. Lead free are about $1/ per bullet.
Cutting Edge 100 grain runs about 3150 with 47.5 grains of RL 26. I ran it up to ~3240 and was still safe but wanted to be well below so I can still shoot on those 100F+ days. Keep us posted.

What were your groups like? or were you just checking velocity
Just checking velocity and what pressure signs were like. I have some Hornady brass coming in I will see how that works with RL26 it has about a grain more case capacity. The Nosler brass is maxed out at 48.5, I will work on load accuracy after without the Magnetospeed attached.

Has anyone tried rl26 in a 7 rem mag with Berger 180's or 195 EOL's?

For a 243? What bullet and bullet weight?

FWIW,
I just finished some more testing in my 284 SP Pistol, 18" bbl length,
using the RL-26 powder and 140 gr Nosler Partition bullets.
My hunting load was running 2850+ fps with decent accuracy,
of less than 2" at 300 yds zero.
I wanted to find the top end load for RL-26 powder with 140 N Part,
and still get decent hunting accuracy at normal hunting ranges etc.
I tested the RL-26 powder with 140 Part up to the max in my SP pistol,
here are the results, stopping at 62.5grs.
Be aware that this load is the MAX in my pistol,
with very lite bolt lift and no marks on the brass etc, use at your own risk.
1st Test,
Loaded overall length of 3.050", throat length of 2.480",
Bullets seated to the base of the neck,
Standard 284 case, custom reamer spec's,
Win 120 standard primers.
Temp was 56*,
Wind at 12 O'clock from the North, at 10-15 mph.
5 shots each test, Win neck sized brass,
Case capacity of 67.9 grs H2o,
All cases weighed within 1/10th gr,
Average Vel = 3143 fps,
High = 3155 fps,
Low = 3124 fps
SD = 12.2
Test #2,
same spec's as above,
Average Vel = 3167 fps,
High = 3189 fps,
Low = 3156 fps,
SD = 14.9
Accuracy was 1.125" at 300 yds for both tests, which I am tickled pink with.
This powder is a lot better than the RL-17, I started with in the 18" bbl.
I thought that the readings were false, as this was a new Magneto V-3 chrono being tested,
so I went home and got my Oelher 33 chrono, reloaded the just fired brass,
and returned to the range and retested the loads again.
Shooting thru/over both chrono's produced a 3-5 fps difference, between the 2 chrono's,
with the RL- 26 loads etc.
I have been using this same powder with 150gr Nosler Partitions in the 7 Mag
with outstanding results also.
Now for some more testing with heavier weight and better BC type bullets,
for longer range s, 1000+ yds ???????

It is by far the best powder I have used in my Ridgeline 7RM, I get 3140 fps with 68Gr of RL 26 and the 162 eldx.
I haven't tried it yet but these are close to the results I have seen on another forum..sounds like 3000ish with the 160 partitions also. John Barsness said he had similar results out of a 22"barrel. If this is true it will make the wsm much less appealing to many
Not to me !
RL26 gets 150gr VLD to 3350 fps (accuracy load NOT top end) out of a 24" 270WSM.

Yes RL26 puts out but I would say that's way past the top end by about 150+ fps, what make of rifle did you do that with ?
