Can someone shed some lite as to why you cannot find any of these brands of brass in 300 win mag?? Are these three manufacturers no longer producing this reloading componet ? I find it hard to believe that there are that many people reloading that cal. to run the supply out, or is it the hording and fear factor again. I sent Norma a email but they will not respond to my inquirey.

this is easy Winchester like all other companies are making ammo with everything they got. Norma is around just have to be right place right time don't last long. Lapua hasn't made it in forever. the 300 win mag is a very popular round. and a little bit of hording

I used to think it was just a case of people hoarding ammo. I said that the other day to the owner of our small gun shop. He had what I think is a more valid explanation..... he said with all the millions of guns that were sold in the last couple years think of everybody buying three or four boxes of ammo for every gun they buy.....ouch..... that also puts a hit on the supply!

I spent over 2 years trying to Find Winchester 300 Win Mag brass(WW Super) After a tip from someone on another site I finally found a shop back east that had a bunch and bought new 300 pieces.

I searched all the normal places and was on everyone's notification lists. I never received one email saying 300 Win Mag brass was in.

I have seen some Hornady and Nosler 300 Win Mag lately but still no sign of any Winchester brass.

Winchester never replied to my dozen emails sent to them over the last two years. I feel your pain.

Just before Christmas a supplier had Hornady whitetail 300 Win Mag on sale for 15 bucks a box.... that was loaded with 150 grain spire points..... that was 60 pieces of brass but loaded for $45 bucks wow....

We are having the same, if not worse, problem here in Australia. The only solution we have found is to buy 100 rounds of loaded ammo, pull the bullets and drop the powder, unless you shoot them up at the range or plinking.
Lately, we have had a good supply of Norma unprimed brass, but, any other brands are non-existent. I normally like Remington brass, but, the price of ammo is stupid expensive.
I still have 300 pieces of Lapua brass from the late 80's, it is by far the best brass I have ever used. A batch of 80 is still going strong at a dozen firings and being annealed every other firing.
I am still on the fence with Norma brass, and Nosler brass is no good, the batch I have is first run stuff, I'm positive it is Federal made, it is heavy, soft and doesn't last 2 firings. The new Nosler is identical internally to my Norma brass, so the rumours that's made by Norma appear to be true.

Cheers.

Just got back on the website. Thanks for all the info. I can find Hornady but I'm hesitate to buy. Have not heard a lot about it. Don't want to invest in brass that is not proven yet by the majority. Some one mentioned a place called mid south. Do they have a website

I use Hornady in my 300 Win Mag. All my cases now have been shot twice and a few 3 times and I'm having no issues with it. All that I've shot 3 times looks good to go again also. My sports warehouse has always had H 300 brass in stock. That's why I'm using it.

Crap brass or not, beggars can't be choosers. Hornady isn't cream of the crop but at the same time its certainly not nickle plated federal.

I was getting ready to buy a 300 WM but if I can't find brass then it's kind of pointless. Can you still get good brass if you buy loaded ammo and pull bullets?? Which is the best brand of brass for the 300 w m if I'm buying factory ammo for the brass???

To the best of my knowledge, Lapua doesn't make belted cases. Of all the manufacturers, Hornady has done the best job of supplying reloaders with components.
