6mmAI reloading questions

I currently got a 6mmAI at the gunsmith being put together. Well Ive been doing a lot of research on loads but with a oddball caliber like that there isn't a whole lot out there. I was just seeing if there is anybody on here willing to dish out some other their loads. I got a 1-14 twist as im looking at running 58-75 grain bullets (should be a coyote slaying machine). But I would really appreciate any info you guys got. Thanks!

I'm running a 6x284 which is pretty close but mine is set up for a completely different application.
A 1:8 twist shooting 105s.

I would look strongly at RL26. Guys are shooting 105s at 330-3400 from a regular .243 Win. with a 28" barrel.

Unless your pushing75k+ in pressure, you WILL NOT PRODUCE THOSE SPECS.

with a 6mm AI, and a hundred grain bullet; you might see 3350fps on a good day with the wind at your back. I got readings like that using the real old .257 Roberts cases and an extremely hot load. The new cases won't hold quite as much powder. I have had two 6mm AI's, and the difference between a 24" and a 26, it will be slightly under" barrel was around 60fps at best. A .243AI would be even less as it holds even less powder. I cannot see any reason for a 28" or longer barrel length in that round.

I shoot the 6mm/250AI. With .045" less shoulder length it holds a little less powder than the .243AI, but otherwise are very similar cases. With a very heavy load of H1000 or Retumbo and the 105 grain Amax it will be just under 3100fps. I doubt the .243AI will be 150fps faster in a 40" barrel! Well maybe with the magic 75K psi load.

Read to your hearts content.
Throat went poor toward 1200, but the results don't lie.
Running 115s now at 1700 rounds with excellent accuracy.

People told me the same thing with my caliber. They said there is no way you can push a 105gr bullet past 3100fps with a 19" barrel. Slow powders need barrel length to move projectiles.

I'm doing it with no pressure signs at all.

I'm no expert in external ballistics, but it all depends on how the pressure curve is formed.

1.5-2 grains more of a propellant that's a step slower and netting 2-250fps more...sorry. calling bull****.
I've been loading for 20+ years. I know a lemon when I see it.

The only way I'll believe this hogwash is rifle in hand with loads done by MYSELF..
Honestly... this kinda crap has now made me make a choice. Im done with this site. Too many dumb*** people throttling their weapons to the point where its a portable nuke. Screw this.

26" 8 twist 4-groove Mcgowan.
These groups were shot at 200 yards.


Thsee groups were around my accuracy node with Reloader 23 for each bullet, I had gone 75 fps faster but accuracy fell off and decided to re-shoot around the good nodes.

Oh it doesn't hurt my feelings at all.
It's not my post and it's not my rifle. Simply shared the results that I have been following and I look forward to testing it as soon as I can get my hands on some.
Right now, I'm content to use RL33.
I know people are achieving similar results with RL26 in a 6mm Comp Match and that's got even less case capacity than the .243Win.

A couple of the LongRifles Inc rifles chambered in 6 Comp Match are running a comfortable 3200 fps (match limit) with 2500 rounds of match accurate barrel life.

Say what you will...but if you've never tested the powder, and I've never tested the powder...I'll take the word of the folks that have.
I didn't see people blowing a gasket when AZShooter was achieving 178fps increase over Retumbo in his 6x284 when he was testing RL33. I followed his thread very closely and built a rifle according to his tests.

It's the technology that's going into these new powders that is making it possible.
