I am in the first stages of planning an aoudad hunt. I am on the fence about going fully or partially guided, have no idea where to go yet, seen numerous Texas and Mexico, hunts, on net, and would appreciate any and all info anyone may have.

Give Bill Perry at Hidden Creek Outfitters a call. Bill runs a guide service down in Texas for Aoudad.

I hunt with Bill for Elk in Wyoming and he runs a first class operation. In fact, one of the other regular elk hunters shot a real nice Aoudad last year with Bill.

I use Steve Jones from Backcountry Hunts. He hunts Texas free range Aoudad. Excellent outfitter, lots of Aoudad

Far west Texas is more akin to a classic sheep hunt. Wilder, rougher country where most of the rams have never seen a feeder. Parts of New Mexico are also comparable.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Aoudad sheep hunting with Desert Safari's, they have taken some monster rams. I plan on hunting Aoudad's with them very soon. Hunter Ross is a great guy and knows his stuff. Here is the address and contact info. Good Luck.

Well I did not draw a tag for New Mexico, maybe next year.
You and me both. I put in for a New Mexico tag and struck out.

I've looked at their website and talked to them on the phone. Right now, they're at the top of my list. Not in the budget this year (or early next year) though.

Thanks for the information, I am not quite in the position to book a trip yet but I will hang on to the name and contact info thanks again

I killed a monster aoudad and management mule deer with Hunter.

Desert Safari's(Hunter Ross) and Southwest Trophy Hunts(Bubba Glosson) have the most of the best of the free range Aoudad country in west Texas leased. The rams in west Texas from the Glass, Davis and Chinati Mountains tend to be significantly larger than those found in New Mexico, both in horns and body weight.

Harvested this one with Bubba Glosson of Southwest Trophy hunting.
