7mm Long Range Magnum

With a new barrel blank, any rifle can be chambered in just about any chambering that uses that rifles' bolt face. If it's a magnum caliber rifle to begin with you can put a new barrel on it, and make it whatever magnum caliber you want it to be.

7mm LRM and 7mm RemMag are ballistically the same thing. Unless you just want a 7mm LRM. Personally, I'd go for the 7mm RemMag. Brass and load data are MUCH easier to obtain.

+1

There are many good 7mm cartridges that are factory loaded and will do everything you want/need.
that have the magnum bolt face.

The 7mm RUM is still king of the factory 7s but the STW is not far behind. the venerable 7 rem mag is still a great cartridge that will satisfy most needs.

There are some great wildcats also but with wildcats comes with there own unique conditions.

Could a Howa 1500 or Weatherby Vanguard be chambered in the Gunwerks 7mm Long Range Magnum ?

Yes, so long as it is a standard magnum bolt face. If you are asking if a barrel can be, then if it is a 284 blank yes. If you plan on rechambering, in most cases yes.

Isn't the 7mm LRM basically a 375 Ruger necked down to 7mm?

The parent cartridge is the 375 Ruger.

The case is modified by necking down and pushing the shoulder back. The case overall length is also reduced by .06" .

The case compared to the 7RM is the same case length, but with the longer neck it is able to seat the long high BC bullets out of the powder collumn and still feed from standard AICS 300WM magazines.

Everything I have read says this is a dead ringer for the 7RM ballistically, some saying it beats it by a small margin.

Brass is available through Gunwerks (for 1.36/ea) and Primal Rights, Inc :: Home(1.30/ea).

Loaded ammo is also available through gunwerks, but it is $$$$!

For me personally I choose what caliber based on brass.

I went 284 Shehane b/c the 6.5-284 brass was readily available through Lapua. I would have preferred a 7 SAUM or WSM but hearing about people not finding brass swayed me to the Shehane.

The 7LRM is doable with standard 375 brass as well as available from the above venders, and not belted, so for me it is GTG.

My 284 Shehane will soon be a switch barrel with the 7LRM.
