I am looking for bullets which expand and penetrate like accubonds in 7mm caliber. I love accubonds for northern beefier deer but they are extremely hard to find in 7mm 140 grains so I am looking for other bullets which will remain accurate/stable out to 500 yards, expand and fully penetrate well on shoulder shots under 200 yards. Beyond 200 yards, shots will be placed behind the shoulder if poasible. This will be shot out of a 7mm08 with a 20 inch barrel. Looking to keep bullets in the 120-140 grain range.

I have had very good luck with 140gr Barnes ttsx in both a 280 and a 7x57. I expect they would work in yours also.

I've also heard good things about Nosler E-tips. I have a box of 150gr but haven't had a chance to try them out yet.

From what I've read is that ttsx and etips need about 2200fps to really expand even though they claim 1800fps. 2200fps would only give the 7mm08 a max range of like 250-300 yards...

Swift Scriocco's have worked pretty well for me on a several different species of game which is why I was slightly ****ed when Remington got rid of their factor loads with those bullets.

Hornady Interbond.

Hornady Manufacturing Company :: Bullets :: Rifle :: Choose by Caliber :: .284 7mm

I've shot them for twenty plus years at all sorts of game and they have never let me down.

Maybe an even better choice for the 7mm-08 than the Interbond.

I have seen them do some crazy things up close though. Shot a buck a couple of years ago with one in my 260 at about 70yds.

He dropped deader than a hammer right in his tracks even though it was a heart shot. When I got to him, no exit wound!

Opened him up and the bullet flattened out nearly the size of a fifty cent piece and was lodged edgewise in his spine.

The bullet entry was actually a hair below the heart but it apparently flattened out and spun straight up!

It appeared to have deflected off of the sternum and just went nuts inside destroying the heart and lungs almost completely before lodging itself in the spine.

Craziest thing I've ever seen!

Swift does plan on selling loaded ammo in the near future. They are also working on offering brass. They aren't the cheapest out there but they are top quality for sure.

The 150gr Scirocco II is an accurate bullet out of my 280AI.

That's good news! The 150gr. SciroccoII is one of my favorites for the 7mm. Both the Scirocco and A - Frame bullets er worth the money IMO.

These are not like an Accubond, but in a good way.....Try the Berger 140 VLD's? You might like them. I use the 7mm 168 VLD's in my 7mm RemMag for whitetails. Hits them like a lightning bolt.
