Califorina is soon invoking nonlead ammo law.The ammo companies such as Hornady or Federal need to manufacture loaded ammo for this law. This means pistol and rifle ammo. Hornady needs to manufacture Flex-tip GMX bullets for pistol and rifles that require bullets with blunt tips. This will be a very large market and may inculde other states at later time. These bullets can be offerd for reloading market ,also. Hornady could use the Calforinan Brand to go with American Brand ammo. This nonlead requirement was brought about because of the Condor. California now has areas where nonlead is required and soon will be the whole stategun). I am saying other states , the condor is in other states. This letter is written by a fellow Califorina Hunter.

A couple things to point out so you see that I am qualified to have my position on this.

I am a native Californian.
I live in the "Condor Zone"
I shoot plenty of copper.
I am more familiar with the Condor and all raptors than you could possibly imagine.

So...

Saving the "Condor" is a ruse to make it harder to get bullets. The "Condor" lead poisoning incidents are nil. Redtails on the other hand have a high percentage of lead poisoning. The "Condor" excuse sounds good and the "Condor" people are very vocal but in reality the anti everything people piggy backed on the "Condor" band wagon to make it harder to get projectiles.

Each "Condor" out free has cost $1 Billion to put back and maintain there so the plausibility factor is high. I personally have contributed a fair bit to the program.

Once the state wide hunting ban is in place, the anti everything people will be following up with a complete ban on projectiles containing lead. Remember you saw it here first.

Now, when hunting I shoot copper, even when not in Crazyfornia. Why, becuase I don't want to eat lead, I don't want my animals to eat lead. I believe it is the right thing for me.... but I don't force my beliefs on other people.

The last bit, I believe it is the right thing done for the wrong reasons and implemented poorly. My preference is to not use lead based projectiles for hunting. I would prefer if others eschewed lead when hunting as well but I ain't gonna make it a law that way. It would be much better as an educational program.

I've heard they may be putting bow hunting on the ballot in CA and 2 other states. We need more sportsmen in office to dismiss these liberal ideas. Do they have nothing better to do than to strip this country of its freedoms? How about get a job!

I too am a Native Californian. Born and raised and still here. I don't mind having to use lead free in the "Condor Zone". I think it is based on complete false facts but at least there are condors in the areas where lead is currently banned. Now, the statewide ban that goes into effect in 2019, I completely disagree with and WILL NOT COMPLY! If there's not a Condor within 100 miles then their argument is based on nothing.

Me too. Lead free bullets for hunting work just fine. It's their availability and cost that kinda hurts. I find it odd that, in areas where lead based bullets and ground squirrel shooting produces a couple of thousand carcasses on any given day; and you have to be careful not to accidentally kill a gull or other scavenger feeding on the remains, I never see any reduction in the scavenger population in the hunting areas. If the lead is knocking off Condors at the rate they claim I'd expect the seagull population from the pacific coast to Salt Lake City to be showing similar results.

Yeah I just stopped hunting and fishing in California all together they don't want our money so I hunt states that work with and for Hunters God bless them. Sorry Comifornia you suck and you will lose in the end, Billions in fact.

The lead free law was based on a lie. A study that proved the condors were not dying from the lead in bullets, but from lead from other sources was suppressed until after the referendum.

I saw a Video of the condor(buzzard) dead from drinking Anti-freeze. So maybe we need write a law to ban anti-freeze,too! The UN and the Dem"s are workig taking your rights one by one. As the comm state of Califonia is ran by the Dem,s. Jerry and his crew are going spend millions on train system, instead coming up with :)a water system.

Just chase the money. This coming from a state that ousted the f&g head of the board for killing a lion legally in another state. I still hate calling the agency the New fish and wildlife. Car batteries, women's makeup and fishing weights are the major uses of lead here. More consumption of those products than shooters and hunters could tally up. Yet every chance the hippies get, sportsmen are blamed. Watch where you step, fish and wildlife employs a lot of new world biologist sell out types not putting actual science or research into reports
