Hi,

I have just picked up a box of 500 x 350gr SMK for the Cheytac and am looking to develop a load.

I have used Retumbo in the past 134 - 135gr, under the Jamison 350gr SMK, Jamison brass, Fed GM215 for about 3145fps.

Unfortunately Retumbo powder isn't always available in my area. Just wondering if any one has used viht N170 or Ramshot Magnum with the above bullets and would be prepared to share their data?

I am using a Stiller action, Lawton 32" barrel 1:11.5 twist.

Thanks.

My load for 350 grain SMK's is 133 grains of H-1000. (gives me 3150 fps with a 30" Benchmark barrel) my OAL length is 4.174" That is .020" off the lands. 4.194" is touching the lands. My best groups were the 4.174"

Just picked up a batch of Lehigh 330 grain Bore Riders and getting ready to do load development for that. I am hoping to get 3250-3300 out of them and run them as my "nuclear" load. I will post results once I find a load.

pictured on top of a 7 SAUM case just for photo purposes. I am hoping to get atleast another 100 fps out of these, I was getting 3150 out of the SMK's with out pushing too hard, I am hoping for atleast 3250 with this projectile in my setup. I am thinking of a starting load of 135 grains and going up from there. :D

I have heard the 375 cheetah can be hard to find an accurate load for. Is that bad info? Is half moa at 500 yards or so difficult?

If you are talking Cheytac, I was getting 100 yard groups around .75 MOA (which is not great, but the best I could get with the SMK's. I had heard that they group better at distance on the big bore stuff. Not sure about that, I have only shot steel at distance with it.

I have put rounds on steel out to 2000 yards with it. It seems very consistent out to 1760 (mile) with this setup. I had given myself a 1450 yard limit on where I would have felt comfortable taking game with it based on results I was getting in the field.

I am hoping to gain some ground on accuracy with some higher BC bullets 330 grain Lehighs. On my next barrel I may go a little faster twist and try some of the heavier projectiles. Really want to give the Rocky Mountains a try. I think I am going to get my hands on some of their 375 grainers after I play with the 330's a bit.

Here is my initial test, looks very promising. I got 3269 for max, 3248 min, 3259 average with 136 grains of H-1000. (I got 3292 with 138 grains, but not gonna push it that hard) That 136 load with an SD of 8.7 over 7 rounds looks like it will play if I can find a seating depth that shoots.

Running numbers it will have 4040 ft/lbs of energy and stay supersonic to 2500 yards at our normal ELR spot. I am excited about this bullet if I can get it to shoot well!

100 yard group, nothing to write home about, but I figured I would put it on paper while shooting over chrono. Probably will do actual group testing at 500 yards once I continue the testing.

Low shot was a yank too, I felt it as soon as it broke.

Here is a shot of the high end of the speed with 138 grains, that is shot number 3, I deleted it from the string, just wanted to see what that load would do for speed.

decided for multiple reasons not to try and push it that hard, but I had to try one to see what it looked like. :D
