Youth Savage .243

I am considering buying a Savage youth model .243 for my son. Its in the hunter package that comes with a scope(of unknown make or quality). Does anyone have experience with this package? it will be his first rifle so I'm hoping the unknown scope will be sufficient for a 100-250 yard shot. I appreciate any feed back.

I believe the package Savage scope is a Simmons.

Sorry if my above reply seemed short. The savage itself should do very well. The rings, maybe, but you might want to look into something like a Nikon as an upgrade to the scope. Sometimes the simmons seem to hold up ok, other times they start giving problems. Either a Nikon or a Vortex would be a good, and affordable, upgrade.
