SOLD/EXPIRED WTB H&R ultra slug gun

IMO stay with the 20 ga.

The 12 is a slobber knocker with 3" and the 20 runs flatter and easier to shoot.

I have had both and my guess is you will not be happy with the 12.

Another option is Savage 220 bolt action.
 
I had the savage 220, it was accurate enough out to 200 yds.
I have an older savage 12 gauge bolt gun now. Factory ammo advertises faster FPS with 12 vs. 20 ga. Recoil is what it is. Crappy stock and trigger.

I also have a Berreta A100 that is a dedicated slug gun. The felt recoil is significant, negating any benefit the semi-auto has for a follow up shot.
