I appreciate all your replies. My friend is an avid outdoorsman and also does quite a bit of guiding. I was thinking of something with a 4-5" blade that will hold a good edge. It will be something that will get a lot of use. I really don't have a price limit, but I'm pretty sure I can get one around $4-500. Thanks again, cinch

At the price you're looking at why don't you phone up Bladegallery.com and chat to Daniel or Drew about what your requirements are. They have a large inventory of nice knives, they are very knowledgable, and you can check out the knives online. Even better, if you don't like it when it arrives you can just send it back for a full refund or choose to try another one.
