wide fore hand on a B&C stock

i had my head up my xx*&%ss when i got this A4 Bell & Carlson stock. wanted a thinner fore hand and this is wide. can i cut it down to look like the mcmillins fore hand, and what is the best way to do it. i cant afford what i got so icant get a mcmillin please give me the best way to take some meat off the fore hand please. thxgun)
 
Mine is shortly going to have a meeting with a belt sander! I've seen a good thread on Sniper's Hide on taking a B&C down.
 
I believe what the guy on the 'Hide did was take a sander to it and then smooth it over with glass. He was doing a texture for grip at the same time, so it worked well. I don't think it will be a problem.
