The fast twists in the 6.5 were around since before the turn of the 20th Century, such as the 1895 Mau. in 6.5 Swede (1-7). They started with long heavy bullets and therefore started with fast twists. The 25's started with light bullets and later a 117 in a round nose, thus slow twist. I wish it were not so, as I am a 25 fan I have a 25-06AI Sendero and a .257 Wea. but that's the way it is.
