Who makes a good long range hunting bullet for in .277 I am looking for a 160+ It looks like I may have to settle for a 140 or 150. I like the 140 AB but out of a 270wsm it would be nice to have a little more lead.

Matrix Ballistics is who you need to look into. I've been running the 165 gr with outstanding results, running them 3053 without maxing out and a BC of .650ish. They also have a 175 but they need a little faster than 1-10 twist.
I'm awaiting the 169.5 Wildcat bullets but I've heard they are also good.

Will the 165 Matrix stabilize in a 1:10" barrel from a 270 Win?

The 165 will stabilize in a 1:10 barrel. Mine just showed up, and if it would stop raining, I'll get to try them out.

I went searching for another solution after 18 months of waiting for the Wildcats.

Marshall at Matrix Bullets was a great guy to speak with and ask questions of. I'll start load development with H1000 and maybe try some Retumbo as well.

Here is a comparison pic: Berger 140 VLD, Berger 150 VLD, and Matrix 165 VLD
