I removed a set of Talley's form one of my Long action Mark V Magnums and installed them on one of my long action Vanguards. When I put a straight edge across the bases I needed a .090" shim under the rear base to get them to the same height. I know that the Wby Mark V SBGM take a set of different bases than a regular Mark V. Leupold even lists a different set of bases for Mark V Magnum and non mag calibers. Tyler, like I said buy what you want but I would be careful and make sure the manufacturer says it will fit your Mark V. I would sure check to see it contacts the receiver every where it should and is not being held on only by the screws. I will have a 700 long action base here soon for Daniels new 300 build. If you want to run your rifle down we can see if it does indeed set correctly. Jeff .
