I'm after a .22 pump action just for having fun with what model would you recommend, also I'm thinking of either open sight or a red dot scopes, but I haven't had to much experience with the red dot scopes so any advice on them to would be helpful thanks.

If you can find a used Browning BPR-22 I think you will like it

When it comes to 22lr rifles: I have loved one semi-auto, one lever action and every bolt action I have used but every pump I have ever tried was a jam-o-matic. I do of course realize they can't all be that way but sure seems that way.

I am a firm believer in the fact that 1 person can never own too many 22 caliber rifles and handguns

Winchester Model 61 and try the open sights they come with.

If you want the exposed hammer version get a model 62.
