what would you choose

I have a few parts on hand and decided I would like to build a magnum rifle. It must feed and work with AICS magazines / Remington long action. I have narrowed it down to.

7mm Rem Mag (162gr-180gr)
.300 Win Mag (190gr-210gr)

Chances are this rifle will see 99% of it's barrel life shooting steel targets and both are capable of taking any game I would consider hunting with the rifle at the ranges I would shoot so thats not really an issue.

So what would you go with? Any others out there I should consider? for people that have shot both what did you prefer?

I have used both. I sold my 300 and kept the 7mm because the 7mm had less recoil. Except for that reason, I would prefer the 300.
