What is the Range of the 300WinMag?

They consistently win 1000 yard matches. That caliber was the king of long range for many a year. I shoot a Stevens 200 with reworked stock, trigger, bedded and 20 MOA mounts and can hit an 8" gong at 800 yards all day long off the bench with factory Black Hills 190 grain. I'd go out to the 1000 yard range but I don't trust the consistency of the stock tupperware stock! Savage/Stevens shoots real good

Well guys I ended up getting a savage model 16FHSS in 300WSM. I could not get the 110FP in 300wm from any dealer around here for some reason and did not want to pay the full price through Savage Arms! I got this gun through Bi-Mart on sale for $499bucks which is a fairly good deal. I am still planing on upgrading the stock, and getting a custom barrel since it has a sporter barrel. I shot my first shot through it today, its kick was not as bad as I expected? Maybe this is because its a short mag, and not the regular win mag? Anyways, I have added a bi-pod, super sling, and scope. I got a 3x9x40 Nikon Buckmaster scope for only $180.00, and it is super clear! I really like this scope! I am planning on putting a full tactical scope with higher power adjustment on later, but finances got tight so this scope will have to do for now. I will just throw it on my .270win when I get my new scope. I will do a separate page with pics soon and add a link. Let me know what you think?

Thanks Nathan,gun)

The 300 win mag won't limit you for long range work, your skill is as a shooter is what will limit you.

At 1000 yards, with a typical long range bullet at typical velocitiesin the 300 win mag as well as any other cartridge - reading the wind and accounting for spin drift and other issues will be the limiting factor.

Uh huh! On 2nd barrel for sure!😂
