If we can't avoid civil war it will be the 47% vs the fly over states. I shut the the TV at work, as some talking head went past my limit. Folks present questioned this decision, I responded with a list of questions that I thought would not be addressed. 1) Do you think the people that bought all the ammo, and firearms at inflated prices, did so thinking if the laws that sparked the run on gun shops actually happen, do you think they'll just give it back? 2) How do you propose to collect this contraband? 3) If we're motivated by "protecting children" how many will die or be injured in a civil war? We need to work on doing more to prevent an end game. We spend so much on all the aspects of this sort, but so little on preserving it. A survey that pops up on LRH says just shy of 50% of us will spend greater than $2500 this year on firearm stuff. For me it's time to spend more of that budget so I don't ever have to look at folks through a rifle sight. Numbers count join the NRA, buy friends and family memberships for birthdays. If all the legitimate firearm owners in this country joined, this conversation changes dramatically. Hell if I could get the list of Chicago voters I'd start enrolling them, see how Obama likes a bunch of American Rifleman, and Hunter delivered to graveyards. They were informed enough to vote. Good post Sidecar, It's good to see the reality of why inner city schools don't want police on campus discussed.
