we just got back from Wyoming using our 6.5 grendel rifles
I got a nice buck Speed goat and 2 Does with 123 grain amax 319 yards

may partner got a nice Speed goat also using the 6.5 G with 123 SST
200 yards

the grendel is perfect for these animals, I am going to cut the barrel to 20 inch, no need for the 24

How was the bullet performance with the AMax vs the SST. I'm shooting the 123 grain AMax out of a 260 and Killed a nice whitetail buck a few yrs ago. 235 yds and he went right down with a quarter size exit hole. I would just like to see/hear more info on these bullets.

amax penetrated deep and blew up , did not exit, SST exited with good expansion

What velocity difference you expecting by going to 20" I have only played with 24" uppers. And with the big muzzle brake it is really front heavy.

not enough to matter, I have no muzzle brake, shorter barrel is more maneuverable and easier getting in and out of the vehicle when goat hunting
