I found a lightly used savage model 10 predator 22-250 at my local gun shop priced at 499.99. It does not have the accustock or detachable mag. I had my hopes set on a TC venture predator 22-250 but I don't know if the savage is going to be that much better quality when compared to the tc. I could get the venture for around the same price as this model 10 used. Is the model 10 predator that much better quality?

I'm a big Savage fan, so yes... the predator is a better model than the Venture. What is the barrel twist rate of the Venture? I would take the tighter twist of the two of them. With the Savage you can upgrade on your own should you ever feel the need to do so later. Savages are really easy to upgrade the barrels, and do bolt work w/o being a gunsmith. So you could upgrade later on when you have more money if you want to build a semi custom rifle on your own.

both rifles have a 1x12 rate of twist believe. im just not sure how to check to see if the used rifle i found has been shot alot or worn out. the cosmetics on the outside look flawless but im not a gunsmith.

That seems like a good price on that Model 10, and I'd bet you could get a bit more off from it if you talk nicely. :D I'd take a Model 10 any day over a Venture. And, the trigger is not too tough to adjust the weight of pull if you wish.

the only thing different about this model 10 predator is that it doesnt have a detatchable mag. i cant find any online like that. they all have detachable mags. was this possibly a model without all the cadillac features but still all the same performance?

It was probably a first run model before doing the DBM. They started running them a couple years ago. Don't remember the details.
