Can anyone tell me if a scope base for a Remington 700 would also fit on a Weatherby Vanguard action if they were both 308's ? It's tough finding a one piece scope base, or for that matter anything aftermarket for a Vanguard

I have a Howa 1500 S/A...... similar to a Vanguard
It takes Rem700 2-piece bases but not Rem 1-piece rails.... front to rear hole spacing is different.
For a 1-piece base try Ken Farrell or EGW (Evolution Gun Works??). Also Roedale.de in Germay is worth a look.
Legacy shows a 1 piece in 0 & 20 MOA in their catalogue..
As you say aftermarket is thin but growing.
