Two More Black Coyotes

Had a great hunt a couple of weeks ago. I got permission to hunt a farm just across the ridge from the place I killed the black coyote last fall. The first time I hunted the place, I killed a triple. Two of them were blacks. That's 3 blacks from the same pack. I hope I didn't kill the breeder with the dominant gene.
It's almost a certainty those are what we call "Coy Dogs". A cross between a coyote and domestic dog.

If there are any wolves or wolf hybrid dogs that have been dumped in your area over the years it may be all three.

If it were me I'd pull some sample DNA both hairs with roots still attached and some cut out pieces of the inside of the cheek for DNA testing by your area biologist or DNR. If neither of them are interested that's the kind of thing college kids working on a degree in, fisheries and forestry management could bet real excited about if you have a university nearby that can do DNA testing in their own labs.
