Looking into a barrel for a 7 WSM to shoot 162 A-max or 175 SMK? Did some searching and can't decide between an 8 or 9 twist.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

9 twist is all you need. Will work from 120's to 180 grain bergers.

[/ QUOTE ] i had the same problem so i went with an 8.5 twist. i know a guy that shoots 175s out of a 284win in 8.5 and has no problems

+1 on the 9 twist. I have a 9.5 twist that stabilizes the 175's at 1K. But I think I will go 9 on the next one.
