I'm looking to get into long range rifle shooting and need a scope. I'm looking at the Leupold Mark 4's, is a 20x top magnification good enough, or should I spend the extra money for a 25x?

20 is plenty for hunting and target shooting. You can get away with less for hunting and may like more for target but 20 is a good power in my opinion.

I would be using the rifle for target shooting only

    For target shooting you will not regret getting this one. :) gun)- - - - - - - - - - - -

When you get up over 60 power the mirage disappears.

Dude, an 80x scope! What is the magnification on the low end?

Also, I'm scared to ask, but what is the cost on that bad boy? I wouldn't mind having one for my 7mm STW.

Holy moses! Anyone wanna give me a loan? :D

I do hope to have one someday. That is a really cool scope. I wish more companies would be able to give a broader magnification range. I think that's cool that after 60x the eclipsing goes away.
