I went out to re zero "Big Green" last night after installing new badger rings and base. Rifle is an 11 lb 338 Lapua shooting a hot load with 300SMK's. The brake is a 3 port Muscle brake with top ports.

Lol, talk about suspense.... wait for it....wait for it..... confusion sets in.... is he screwin with us, I mean he's in WY & the wind isn't blowing 300mph?? lol

Looks pretty easy on the shoulder, little to no muzzle flip, very nice sir. What velocity are you pushing the 300SMK?? Kind of curious as I shoot the 338RUM, wouldn't mind knowing what I'm giving up to the Lapua.

No bipod hop :). Looks like you were straight back behind the rifle. Nice shooting form from what I could see.

    How far were you shooting?

Outlaw. I live in the big horn basin and the wind actually rarely blows here. I'm getting 2760 for velocity.
Shrtshtr. I was shooting 200 yards to get my zero. Now I'm ready to start dialing in. I put a 30 moa rail on so I'm going to go for the elusive 1 mile shot

No wind? NOW you're making me jealous. 2760 is very close to where I intend my velocities to be with the RUM... but I have found that trying to keep primer pockets a little trying (Remington brass). Good luck with the 1760, I'm dreaming of that one myself, let us know when you get'er done!

Outlaw its done. I have my B.C. and my drops everything is ready to go. I used to have it sitting in Talley rings but was maxed out in dialing range so thats whay I bought the badger rings and base so I could dial further. SO FAR I have not had any issues with my primer pockets they have all been loaded about 5 times with no pocket expansion. Its Lapua Brass and so far I am very impressed.

no 11 lbs no bipod. Krieger #6 fluted 26", greybull stock, Leupold vx3 6.5-20x50mm badger steel max50 rings and rail. its not super heavy but not light either, about all i want to pack up elk hunting, im thinking about building a light weight 338 RUM for mountain hunting... problem is I love this rifle SOO FREAKING MUCH! I feel bad not taking it.
