Other than academics it doesn't seem to care much about seating depth. So I just seat my bullets to fit the magazine and use a Lee factory crimp die with a light crimp to prevent movement of the bullet from recoil. It's a superb hunting rifle in my opinion.
Motown, I have a very accurate Tikka T3 Lite 270WSM. I did all initial load development with a Chronograph. I used only Magpro, WLRM primer, Win cases. Hornady Vmax 110, 5shots in 11/16". Swift A-frame 150, 5 shots in 5/8". Swift Scirocco 130, 4". I never could come close to advertised velocities without running into excessive pressures. I now use H414 powder as well. Both powders give good performance in my gun. My gun does not like the Scirocco bullet for some reason. All others shoot sub moa or better. I tried to find the lead/rifling throat in my gun. On a dummy round I seated the bullet out !/8" past the magazine length and chambered the round. It extracted perfectly with no rifliing marks on the bullet. The throat has got to be long!!!! Other than academics it doesn't seem to care much about seating depth. So I just seat my bullets to fit the magazine and use a Lee factory crimp die with a light crimp to prevent movement of the bullet from recoil. It's a superb hunting rifle in my opinion. The Vmax load I settled on was 3310fps. The SAF 150 load I settled on was 3020fps. Plenty fast enough to kill the intended game and highly accurate. Hope this helps.
