I have just purchased a Tikka M55 in .223Rem, the previous owner was an elderly gentleman who has medical problems that prevented him ever using the newly fitted custom barrel.

The rifle currently has a standard wooden stock but I am considering putting a Mcmillan on it to get a higher elevation to get a better view down the PMII.

Have any of you guys had any experience with Tikka M55 rifles and if so what do you think of them?

Also, do you think the Mcmillan A3-5 stock would be a good choice ?

The rifle has a custom 26" 1 in 9 twist PacNor barrel fitted by riflecraft with a blueprinted action, what bullets would you recommend for this combination. I was hoping the 75 grain AMax would work but I think the 70vld's and 69smk will probably be better suited to this particular twist rate.

I will be using the rifle for paper punching and varmints.

Have you had any experiences with this twist in .223 and if so what would you advise?
