This is a sporter weight rifle and recoil with 150 gr BT's at 3375 fps was sharp enough that I noticed it when I shot a deer, something that is usually tuned out by adrenaline. Bench sessions required a bath towel between my shoulder and the rifle, even with a heavy coat on. I shot the rifle from the bench in a T-shirt with this brake on and felt recoil is in the neighborhood of a .243 or less with no muzzle jump. Wow! It is quite loud, however, testament to its efficiency. Hearing protection will be a must even when hunting. I would say some simple foam earplugs will suffice in the field. I could barely see where the brake joins the barrel even when I studied close and squinted. There were a few visible machining marks inside the sides of the ports plus a tiny burr on the inner margin of the side of one port but that is just nitpicking. Nathan is very friendly and accomodating. I am quite satisfied with this brake and would recommend Nathan to anyone.
I just got my Rem 700 7mm RUM back from Nathan Dagley of Straight Shot Gunsmithing Welcome To My Website with his V-port vaporizer muzzle brake and I am impressed.
