I live in Texas, but 2 weeks ago I became a Life member of the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association. I told them just send me a membership card, I didn't need a newsletter, magazine or pocketknife, just spend the rest on the fight.

Better to stay, fight and triumph IMO.

New York State is beautiful, especially upstate in the Finger Lakes region. I've fished there many times. Every state has it's scenic parts and it's ugly parts like New York State has NYC and Michigan has Detroit and Flint. Michigan is also a beautiful state so long as you avoid the ugly parts, which I do for the most part.

Just because something isn't right don't mean you run away. You stay and fix it.

Hey, I'd like to detonante a thermonuclear device over Detroit and start over but Dave Bing (who I happen to personally know) is making a valiant attempt to right years and years of corruption, blight and decay that started with Coleman Young and went right throough Kwame Kilpatrick.

At one time Detroit was a vibrant city of manufacturing, night life, theaters, parks and resturants. Now, I have to carry a pistol when I walk in downtown Detroit for fear of being mugged. Don't have to be that way. Everything can be changed but the effort has to be made and the people educated.

I hate NY always have, only thing keeping me here as of right now is the wife's job. If nothing changes, I have already started talking her into a move. The fact that our car insurance just increased over 100% is making her decision a little easier.

Wow insurance increased over 100% . If you dont mind me asking why? Car wreck or is your state causing this? I live in the Bible belt so its God, Guns and Glory praise God .gun)
I feel my state is close to Texas as far as our officials . I did mention to my wife that if we ever moved it would be to MT --------maybe I get some range time with Broz.

sidecarflip, I understand that we dont need to run but we need to stand ..

Because we have another new tax, we don't buy new cars and we take care of the ones we have. I guess if its more than 10 years old, for some reason it cost more to insure. we have an 02, 03, 0n and 04 so we have to pay more! We had a 1k a year policy not its 2300 WTH is all I can say WTH! No accident and no tickets both have clean records. Wife was on the phone with the insurance people for an hour waiting on a return call......

And on top of the 60 plus $ OBAMA took from our pay checks a piece every week, The state has seen it fit to stick "binding arbitration" into the budget, thus negation our unions right to represent us and at least for my wife giving her a 2% pay cut every year for the foreseeable future.

I don't understand any politician frankly.

Here in Michigan we have no fault insurance so a portion of your premium goes into the MCCA (Michigan Catastrophic Coverage Association) it basically doubles your car, motorcycle, watercraft or snowmobile insurance to cover PI where the victim exceeds their own coverage. Thats fine to a point. That point is, they keep raising the MCCA addendum to cover the rising cost of hospital and related expenses. Personally, I'd do away with it entirely. Especially in light of Obamacare. Typically, my motorcycle insurance for each bike (I have 4 BTW) is about 300 bucks a year and the MCCA is 250. Cars are the same way. If you have full coverage like we do, it's around 500 a year per vehicle. Add in the MCCA and it jumps to 800.

If you don't have insurance, you can't get plates/stickers, so people that can't afford insurance take a piezo torch and heat the stickers and pull them off in parking lots.etc., and put them on their plates and if they need plates and sticker, they get insurance, show the Secretary of State their insurance cert, get the plates/stickers and go cancel the insurance. It's a big game here. About 1/3 of all Michigan drivers have no insurance because they can't afford it.

The simple cure is to make the MCCA Addendum an option. If you want the coverage, you get it. If not, you sign a waiver and you don't have it.

Problem is the politicians don't want that because the MCCA Association is a fat cat paycheck for the politicians that sit on the board...and their asses.

Now, our roads are falling apart so our governor decides that he's raising the gasoline tax 19 cents a gallon and diesel 24 cents a gallon. That will make Michigan fuel taxes the highest in the country and we have the highest unemployment, the highest rate of foreclosures (except Nevada) and the most population leaving the state.

It ain't rocket science to me. You raise taxes, people go elsewhere. Now is not the time to increase taxes as our dumb *** governor will find out and Obama is going to find out too, Obama has so much on his plate with the deficit, Syria, Israel, Afghanistan, Gun Control, a dysfunctional senate and congress, the Beltway Bozo's are going to find out that we have had enough and that goes for this state as well.

Our dumb *** governor won't get my vote again. I'd rather have Mickey Mouse.... and certainly not Obama either. Jessie Ventura could do better.

I see the economy (if you want to call it that) is starting to recede back to a morass like we had 2 years ago. It never got too much better but it did level off for a while. Now it's regressing and not surprisingly, Obamacare is fueling the regression, How wonderful but to be expected with a Bozo at the helm.

Obamacare is going to cut right at the heart of what fuels the economy and thats not Chinese imports but rather what manufacturing base we have left. It ain't much but it's still there, about 1/3 of what it was 20 years ago but still lots of people are employed in blue collar, good paying jobs and their employers are about to take it on the chin with Obamacare and that includes the UAW employees and their union that donated so much to the Obama campaign and instructed their union brothers on how to vote...for Obama, but what the unions forget is without the employers for the workers to have a job, the union goes bust. It's math 101. No job, no worker, no worker, no union dues, no union dues, no union.

I'm concerned that we are going to get to the point where the right to bear arms against a tyrannical government will also be to bear arms against desperate citizens that want to take from me for themselves.

I know where I stand on that........

Thought I'd give you a little insight of how it is to live in a tax depressed state.

I'm lucky. I live 10 miles north of Ohio so I get my gas and diesel there. We shop in Ohio, get the smokes in Ohio, about everything I buy is in Ohio except handguns.

I moved from Ohio to Michigan years ago. I should have stayed in Ohio.

Politicians are 99% idiots.

I guess what I'm saying in an nutshell is, the brain dead politicians keep piling it on and on and on with no letup in their stupidity and total disregard for their constitutients, the Constitution or anything that makes a shred of sense except personal agenda's and I, for one am about at the 'full' mark on my ******** level gage.

20 years ago, I would have been called a radical thinker. Today, I'm just one of tens of thousands of like minded citizens.

I still believe that people didn't go out and clear the shelves of semi-automatics and ammunition and components just to hoard the stuff, I believe lots of people feel the way I do and like good Scouts are getting prepared.

People don't have that kind of money to be buying frivilous items. Its about the eventuality and standing up for whats just.

I'm still all about effectuating a solution thats equitable and in keeping with the Constitution, but if reasonable minds fail to come to a non-violent conclusion, I'm all about the other avenue as well.

My mother ownes an Insurance company (Independant Agent) and I see first hand how the Insurance companies have us by the balls ! In my state its Illegal if you dont have it and now they tell me Obamas health care plan is going to tighten the squeeze on the smokers drinkers . I personally dont think I should have to fit into the same group sense I dont smoke and drink but for those that do your going to have to PAY big money for coverage that they force you to have . Think about it this way if you have to have any kind of coverage because its Illegal not to have and THEY get to set the price and rules for the price then you can bet the old saying crap runs down hill and we are at the bottom of the hill!

I am in the union and the year before last I got a $1.03 raise the Union hall got a dollar and I got 3 cents on my check ????
This year we got $1.06 raise . The union got a dollar and I got .06 cents on my check. The Union is starting to look like a joke . They are even talking about cutting our credits that we earn each year for retirement .
Better buy up Gold and Silver if you want something that will hold its value ! And Ammo to protect what you do have.

I was a teamster foir a few years and I have no use for any union.

Unions protect the non productive worker, similar to what entitlement does and thats why Obama and the unions are in bed together. They are both Socialist and they are both anti-productive.

Unions stiflle productivity. One thing that happened here in Michigan that I approve of was it became a 'Right to Work State'. Right to work is nothing more than if a shop is unionized, it's the workers choice wheter they join the union or not. The closed, you have to join to work there is no longer legal.

I work for a company with 1600 employees thats not union and each and every employee is judged for pay increases over the base wage by their productivity, attitude and attendence, not by a cast in stone wage scale dictated by some union contract.

I keep reading more and more about Obama running for a 4th and 5th term by maligning the 22 Amendment (as I stated long ago). The unions again will play a big part in that with a fat payoff (to the union bosses) from the Obama administration. The unions will instruct their rank and file who to vote for and they will, being good sheeple.

Our plight (the 2nd Amendment ratification) is just a small part of the overall plan) to mold this country into a modern Socialist totarian state. How wonderful.

So, we are not alone then! Seems like a move is in order for more than just us.

What do you do? I have a Iron workers book, I know all to well about the pay raise you are talking of. I started in 98 journeyman pay was 23$ now its 24.50 over a 15 year period. Our retirement was 113$ per year worked, it was just raised to 115, which helped out my dad. We do 3 year contracts and I believe it cost the employer 134$ for every hour I work, every time we get a raise it goes to health care. Last contract we got .20 in our check over a 3 year period. The locals to my west and east are all at least 6$hr more, most guys go to NYC for 6 months at a time. The 13$hr vacation fund plus the huge pay increase really helps out family's.

I think the fact the DHS just bought more ammo than the US Military used in in all combat operation in Iraq, says we are in for a very large economic down turn here.

I am a Union Carpenter , I have worked for years as non Union in the construction buisness ( I had my own ) but the economy and housing industry fell on its face leaving me to find another way to provide for my family, so I joined the Union . I started at top out pay. I make $22.67 an our . If I work one year I earn a credit of $85.00 or if I work 1000 Hours then I earn a credit which ever comes first. After 5 years we are vested. I am not proud at all to be in the Union the majority of them are just plain lazy !! They support and vote for the Democrat no matter how sorry and Anti American , we see this in the last 2 elections ''Obama'' They throw it in my face all the time that unions back obama . I didnt I voted for God and my country , Guns and 2nd Ammendment!
I didnt bother to tell them that our local Insurance agencey sends a portion of their membership fee to the Republican office near by . Wahoo :D .

The Unions are also Full of Masons and one man can bust his tail be on time and have more knowledge but the ring bumpers still gets the promotion . (SORRY LOW DOWN#$%!@#$)
