That's right, WAKE UP!
Let's see now, what morons decided that it is a good idea to use FOOD as a fuel? The repercussions are beginning to be felt at the grocery store!
Let's see, why wouldn't there be wage inflation for the average Joe when unemployment is in the 5% range ( which is considered FULL employment) ?
Could it be that there are 12 million illegal immigrants pouring into the low end jobs, which means that businesses don't need to pay more for help! That means all those EVIL business owners and WALL streeters get huge windfalls.
Let's see, would YOU rather control at least a portion of your Social Security funds or do you think that the morons in Washington should control every last penny that YOU have earned in your life!
Let's see, the folks in Alaska want to drill for OIL, our economies lifeblood, but Washington says no.
Let's see, we have a Health Care system that may not be perfect, but it is certainly better than almost anywhere else, ( folks seem to cross OUR borders to get OUR health care even though they are covered in their own Countries).
Let's let the folks run it that can't close our Borders after 20 years of promising, can't teach our kids, lose money at Off Track Betting!
Is there ANYTHING that the Government does WELL?
WHY would anyone want the Government to run any more of their life!
Personally, I want them to do MUCH, MUCH less for me and my family and let me spend my own **** money as my family sees fit!

More than one reason to NOT vote for Barack or Hillary.....McCain too.....as a matter of fact there are about 525 folks that need a "pink slip" as far as I'm concerned!

I'm glad to see that Obama's radical racist preacher/campaign leads is getting some time in the lite with his "sermons" that are way out of control.
It scares the hell out of me to think that this freak has a chance to be a leader of one of the world superpower and will likely be nothing more than a puppet for a cause , and what scares me more is that more than half the ******* that are voting for him know nothing about him other than he speaks well in public.
I think that this country is going to head alot further in the direction of another depression or civil war if we keep putting people like this in office.
I know as an educacted , working , middle class , white , christian hetrosexual male that I'm not far from being totaly fed up with the system and being the most discriminated class of human on earth.

Caught a little of Rush's show yesterday...he had a good point: Why did the media tear into Romney for being a mormon, but have not pursued Obama's faith.
I also am dumb founded as to why everyone is so offened by what Geraldine Ferraro said??????? A few days after she makes her statment Mississippi's black vote. They vote 9 of 10 for Obama.....I'm I just stupid.......or does everyone think the black vote would have still turned out and would have voted the same way if Obama was white??????????
I thought his comment were pretty funny after he heard what Geraldine Ferraro said.....about finding in a book where it would recommend being black and be named Obama was the way to become elected President. I think if he would have "read" a little further, it would also state the only way you would stand a chance would be if you're black!
There is no way you'd stand a chance with his back ground, church of choice and have name that includes Hussain.....to even be on the ticket with Hillery if he wasn't black.

I agree CaptnC , the president realy doesen't run the country but he has enough power to realy screw it up ,thats been proven through history. I agree 100% about getting Rice or Powel to run for McCain's VP , it would sure make me feel a better voting for him.

What do you mean "evil buisiness owners"? I hope I am completely mis-understanding you. As a buisiness owner, I certainly don't think I am evil for employing people, trying to pay them as much as I can, and make a profit. While producing quality services to my clients.
Our health care system is not better than almost every other system. Unless I am wrong, and there is one better than ours that I am not aware of. The only problem w/ our system, is the lawsuits that put undue pressure on the system. Looser pays lawsuits would correct this imo.
Here is my pipe dream: Perhaps before the Republican convention it will be figured out that McCain is not the right choice for the party, and someone else that has a solid foundation, and constitutional vision for the country, will be nominated instead.

Its peculiar how the racist black leadership and the liberal media have manipulated many good Americans into "politically correct silence" concerning Obama's racist spiritual mentor, Dr. Wright.
So, Obama was not aware of his reverend's hysterically loud racist views against whites and Jews. For twenty years? I smell a liar.
I am tire of hearing all the complaints about the "black experience" and slavery endured by proxy. Blacks or any other race does not own the trademark for being enslaved. All races throughout history have taken heir turn. Blacks can never earn the respect they seek by having self-pity for something that ended in this country well over a hundred years ago.
I may be considered Hispanic, Latino, or a minority by some. Let me make it very clear to all that I am not a Hispanic American, a Latino American or a minority American, if you will. I am first and foremost an AMERICAN, period.
I am forever grateful to the wonderful Americans (most who are white) that embraced me as their own when I first arrived in the United States of America. I believe my acceptance was so because I aspired to learn English and the American way of life. I have always respected and admired the United States for its achievements, its generosity, and its constitution. One of the proudest days in my life was when I was sworn in as an American citizen. I still well-up with tears when I speak of this great gift I received, what an honor to be a member of the greatest nation that ever existed. Thank you God and thank you America. Sorry tongue in cheek, the "Left" sees businesses and "Wall street" as the enemy. I see them as the Lifeblood of our economy.
As to your second part about paying employees as much as possible......I'll take you at your word
IMO, the "Normal" business cycle works like this.
High unemployment, weak businesses go bankrupt, wages fall;
Business inventories fall over several months;
Businesses start to replenish inventories with CHEAPER labor, and more spending by these new workers starts the cycle expanding;
Business OWNERS ( stockholders) and top managers, start to make good profits start to expand by hiring more CHEAP labor;
PROFITS skyrocket, and businesses are "forced" to pay more for labor as we reach full employment;
LABOR costs escalate as businesses attempt to keep good workers, and PROFITS peak and then drop;
At this point business normally over expands and inventories grow far in excess of demand. Management starts will small layoffs and product sales.
Sales can't keep up with costs and those inventories won't go away. No need for workers so unemployment rises.
NEXT CYCLE!
IMO, businesses pay what they are FORCED to pay for labor. A business is there to make Capital, not for altruistic purposes. If you chooses to pay much more for labor than another worker would charge you, then you are a nice guy.... and probably a small business.
Large businesses MUST try to keep costs low. The business, and ultimately the Shareholders must be the main concern of management.
Labor( the workforce) is an expense that rises and falls as the economy expands and contracts!

PS What we have right now is NOT NORMAL! The huge influx of Illegals ( willing to work for very cheap wages ), are holding down the cost of low end labor.
If low end wage inflation does not take place, then the next higher rung of workers can't demand higher wages either!
IMO, this is the main reason that Congress acted to raise the "Minimum Wage" in the middle of the business cycle. There should have been no need for that, BUT management and shareholders were reaping huge rewards and were not FORCED to pay more for labor because there is no shortage!

There is nothing wrong with profit. 5% unemployment is a labor shortage. The 5% left overs either don't want to work or are not capable. The only thing left is to steal employees from competing companys, or countries.
It amazes me how people think big corporations are bad because they make money. This mentallity makes it easy to pass legislation to raise taxes on these buisineses. (Yeah, get those evil corporit pigs, make them pay their share.) How stupid can people be. No company, tiny like mine, or huge, just eats a tax increase. It gets added into the cost of doing buisiness. Thus whatever product is produced goes up in price. If the cost of doing buisiness goes up too much, then companys look elsewhere for location, and employees. In the end 'joe six-pack', you and me pay for the "evil corp." mentallity.

Nice thought Steve, but one thing that bill gates said no long ago that got me going was this: I hardly pay any taxes as there is so many write off's in my position, the system is backwards. That was a direct quote. Don't get me wrong I agree with your thoughts. However some of these giants and there ceo's aren't paying enough taxes and I'm paying too much

There is absolutely no law that prevents Bill Gates or Bill Clinton from sending every last penny they own to the Treasury! If they really meant it then they would gift away 100% of their wealth, be broke and go back working for a living!
The top 10% wage earners pay over 50% of the income taxes, and the bottom 50% of wage earners pay less than 5%! That does not seem to be that out of kilter to me.

How much money should a person be "allowed" to make, before they are required to give it up for the people who are not as "lucky or fortunate"? As if people who are "rich" never worked. As if they never spend money. When they buy houses, autos, boats, you name it. Do people get paid for producing the products they buy? Do people get paid that work for the companys that produce these products and services? Do the companys and their employees that recieve payment from these terrible rich people pay taxes on the money they make?
The fact is our economy can not function with out the rich.
Lets say one of you comes up with a product in the gun industry that makes you wealthy. Your idea winds up employing people and adding to the economy. How much of your money that you earned do you think you should give up to the government to redistribute to the people who did not earn it?
I can only assume that nobody hear is a socialist. So how far towards socialism do you think we should go?
