The only thing I've done to my 338 RUM is turn the trigger pull down to 3.5 lbs. The rifle will shoot a 250gr Serria bullet at 2998 fps with 95 gr of RL25 max load will shoot a 225 gr bullet at 3100 fps with 98gr of RL25 max load and it will shoot a 200 gr bullet at 3150 fps with 99gr of RL25 Max load. This is how fast I shoot these bullets they are all at MAX, I chronographed them with a Pact chronograph.

Post some photos of some groups if you have them!

What will it do from say......1200 yds. or farther??

try rl22 with the 200. your rl25 load exactly duplicates what mine did two days ago with the same charge and wlrm primers. 96 grains of rl22 went 3305-3319 for three shots. 95 grains went 3270ish. worked in my gun. i've tried several but settled on rl22 with 200's. haven't tried it with 225's. shoots .5 to .75 three shots at 100. i know their a touch over book max but my rifle has a fair amount of freebore. 5 min after i shot the 22 i shot 99grs of 25 and got 3140 to 3160. same bullet depth with both. i'll post the rest of what i tried that day later.

RMulhern I don't have the equip to post anything. I don't have any place to shoot my 338 rum at 1200 yds. The longest range here is 200 yds. I've never shot it at 100 yds for a 3 shot group. I have at 150 yds and all three bullet holes were touching. I have it for big bears when I make another bear hunt trip.

The RL22 loads sound pretty Hot! With loads out of the load book the RL22 loads are right around the RL25 loads. I think I'll stick to the RL25 loads. They might go a little slower but maybe my barrel will last a little longer. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
