[QUOTE="rscott5028, post: 510984, member: 24624"] Top 10 Reasons for choosing tactical vs sporter stock (10) what they were trained on (9) got tired of others winning competitions (8) tried one that someone else had and it fit and felt really good (7) design was well suited to their application e.g. squared vs sloped bottom rides a bag really well (6) let a bunch of anonymous experts on the internet influence them (5) saw someone shoot really well with one in a magazine (4) self-training to be a sniper (3) black rifle fixation (2) it looks cool (1) rambo complex There's a huge range of quality in both sporter and tactical stocks. You usually get what you pay for. (sometimes not) I've found tactical style stocks to provide a very solid and consistent shooting platform for long range especially with a bipod and rear bag. They generally carry a little more weight which is also good for long range. I still prefer a sporter for a carry rifle when I'm guiding for my kids/nephews. Or, for hauling around in a pickup.
