I just found a Leupold 8.5x25 LR in a local shop for sale. A customer traded it in on a pistol and other things. I'm paying $599 tax and all so I think I'm getting a good deal.

My question is this: The scope has what appears to be a sunshade on the objective end, yet it is larger than the objective and looks like it is screwed onto the outside of the objective. Is this right? This is the first one of these scopes I've seen in person. If it is a sunshade, it won't unscrew. Is that right?

Either way, I feel I have a good deal and will be sending it to Premier for M1 turrets and a Gen II mildot reticule.

    Thanks for the help.

    Take care,
