I have 1974 NIB, yes NIB, 1974 BDL in a .308. I have never glass bedded a rifle or installed pillars. I am real hard on stock and this stock is really nice and as you know, in 1974 the stocks were hand checkered and it shows.

My options are:
Use a Rem XCR Magnum stock, bed it and install pillars. Question , can you do this with this stock, your thoughts.
Get a BC Medalist. Do I still need to bed and install pillars?
Go Hogue.

This is a hunting rifle is will rarley see a bench. I am new to CF rifles so pardon my ignorance.

What U got is a 700 BDL short action. If I were going to spend monney on a stock for my 721 now a 700 or my 700 both LA it would be a Bell & Carlson Alaskan Wilderness / Mountain Rifle Remington Model 700 Stock - Right & Left Hand Available take your pick. Witch is why I am here What U all think? got a 700 SPS camo 7RM camo stock last fall since then I robbed that stock & finshed off my .06 721 Its sub MOA now. So I need a stock for 7RM stainless steel just got a black SPS stock for $40.00 "a temp. stock" think I should float it or not? I will be going back to get that alaskan ti for it.
