I am looking to start a DIY custom gun project and I am wondering if the stevens and savage actions are the same. If they are not what are the differences? What I am looking for is a sacrificial rifle that I can rob the action from to start my project with. I have never had a stevens in my hands to examine, but the pictures on the savage website look very similar between the savage and stevens. I am just concerned with the action itself as the barrel trigger and stock will be disgarded. Thanks guys in advance, JRW

The only difference is the trigger. The Stevens did not get accutriggers.

Everything is interchangeable.

Also, if it matters to you. Stevens never came in a large shank either.

Nope.

In the regular 110/10 based actions, the only thing large shank were RUM and WSM chamberings.

All of the target actions are large shank.

I've built all of my Savages on small shank actions. From 22-250 up to 338 Edge.
