i'm looking to buy a spotting scope. anyone have any feedback on a Pentax PF80ED 20x60? also would a straight or angled eyepiece be preferable? i know they ain't cheap but i caught my wife in a good mood and have worked a few hours overtime. thanks ....

I do not own the scope but will offer you some general advice based upon general facts.

You can get two fixed power eye pieces for the price of one variable. Optical quality of the fixed power will be really noticeably better than the variable power. Wide angle fixed power lenses are great for spotting animals. I use a 22WA and a 32 WA. They are easy to swap out in the field under hunting situations- BTDT.

Cheap way to improve the optical quality of your scope. lightbulb
