.....and a PISTOL to beat it all. I have a single shot Remington 40XBR with a medium countour 27" barrel in .22LR, scoped with an older 1" Leupold 36x benchrest scope (1/4" adjustments, JFYI), 2 oz trigger with a safety thanks to Rifle Basix, and added Burris' Zee rings with the -20 MOA inserts up front, and the +20 MOA inserts in the back (yep, +40 MOA scope mounts for a .22 LR! Although, my elevation is about 20 clicks from the bottom of the scope, last I checked). To be completely honest, I find that joker more fun to shoot than almost any of my firearms. Prior to the mercury dropping, the barrel was firelapped with the subsonic 60gr. Aquila ammo and the Neco Kit minus the 220 grit, however with more shots of the finer grits (it was an old CMP rifle, and the bore needed a little shining---she's all good now, with the accuracy proving that as well---at 100 yards I can hit a .22 case if I watch the wind). The accuracy even at those distances sometimes amaze me, and it's CHEAP LR practice! It gets even funner at the extended ranges! Ya just have to watch that darn wind, LOL! Kudos to you brother hitting anything at 1K with a .22 LR, and a PISTOL to beat it all! That's too awesome not to commend you!!!
