Welcome to the forum! I'm from Rapid City myself. I'm a newbie shooter too but i've been on here for a while. 2 deployments have kept me from getting to practice much...

Here is our tiny website: https://sites.google.com/site/frgcorg/

Working with GF&P. They did a land swap with a local landowner, which took the better part of a year to complete. Since that time, late August, things have moved as swiftly as any state project could.

Basically, DOT has approved the road work on 71 to allow for entrance. Cultural surveying is in the final stages, topographical surveys are done, etc, etc.

We are expecting dirt work to begin in the spring and to have the range open for shooting during the summer.

The hope is to make it into a complete facility. Archery, skeet, air gun, .22 range, hand gun, and short/long range rifle range.

Of course, this is not all going to be done in this first year of construction.
