I was just curious if anyone has experience switching from say a .30cal 180gr ballistic tip to the 180gr accubond. Theoretically they should shoot exactly the same, right? Anyone tried it?

In some rifles they are interchangeable. In others they are not as good for whatever reason. I know of a few shooters that practice with btips and hunt with ABs with the same load because for them, they are interchangeable.

The jacket thickness and alloys are different and the alloy of lead used for the core is different.

The reason Im asking is because I picked up a rifle that came with a .5moa test target and they gave the load with 180gr ballistic tip. I wasnt going to change anything except to the 180gr accubond. I guess I can try it and see how it goes, worst case ill just use b-tips.

    Thanks
