Today I turned 47. I decided that I would no longer judge a rifle based on 3 shot groups. After a phone call with my smith, I decided it would be 5. It’s easy to say .25” group when it’s three. My heart is in bench rest. Years ago, I discovered F class and then PRS. I ended up selling my br rig. I regret that. The reality is this: I’m a hunter. I love shooting, but I also love the woods and convening with nature, much like everyone else here. I am not, nor will I ever be a competitive shooter. It’s just not for me. What is for me in the shooting sports world is bench rest. The pure joy of experimentation, repetition and precision. This fall, my friend Jon will be building me a new rifle. Not sure what cal yet, but it will be a bench gun and occasionally shoot some f class. I’m not concerned with scores, trophy’s or plaques, just a good tIme and a little bragging here and there. Beyond that, it’s now for the most part about deer until January 1. thanks for reading my ramble. Here’s a fiver from today at 100y. LET’S SEE SOME 5 SHOT GROUPS!
