I am an avid long range shooter but I have a serious problem if I focus on a taget longer than 15 seconds my head begins to shake uncontrolably. I do have random body twitches and often completely pass out when I stand up. I dont do any drugs and am not on any medication and the doctors say I'm as healthy as an ox. Is this common? Am I doing something wrong? Should I get a new doctor? lol

Any old war wounds? Shrapnel in the skull?

There's something out of wack somewhere.

A different doctor would be in order if it were me. More than likely it will take someone other than a general practitioner.

I recommend a university hospital.

Oh, are your skivvies too tight???? That'll do it too.:D

i would seek a second opinion if i were you
not to be an alarmist but doctors have been known to make a mistake or two

Too much Viagra ? Just kidding.
Really no laughing matter , I would definately see a specialist of some kind .

When I read this post the other day I figured that it was a joke posted by a first time LRH poster.

However, if you are really suffering from the symptoms stated then I would suggest you seriously follow Dr. RoyInIdaho's advice. I would.

as far as the shakes, my father has intention trimmers. basically the opposing muscle groups fight when you focus on something, causing a steady side to side shake. now as far as the passing out...stop drinking so much! honestly, see a specialist.

Don't focus on a target for more than 7 seconds and don't ever stand up, problem solved! Some states are legalizing that 5 leaf plant saying its a wonder drug, maybe?

Assuming your DR is right, and you are as healthy as an ox, you may just be too tense behind the gun?? Not saying that you are nervous or anything, but if your scope height is too high causing you to not be able to comfortably rest your cheek on the stock, or you are trying make super small adjustments while getting on target without using something like a sandbag to do so, or maybe you are just holding your rig too tight. I could easily see how any of those would create you to shake a little, then all of a sudden youre playing mind games with yourself and end up shaking like hell. If you don't do so already, I would try getting a cheek piece and firing out of something like a lead sled. A set up where you are as relaxed and comfortable as possible. If that doesn't work, I would get a second opinion from another DR. Have you ever been tested for Hypertension, Anemia, diabetes or an inner ear problem???
