Savage VLP Magazine Length

Savage VLP owners - HELP NEEDED!

I'm looking at getting a Savage Model 12 VLP in 223 with 7 or 9" twist.

Just wondering how much room do i have to seat the heavy projectiles, 70+ grain?

Is it possible?

Hey mate I just picked mine up this morning the internal length of magazine measures 2.465.
Loaded up some 75gr vld's to 2.425 and they fed without any problems

Did you get it in 223?
Should i go with the 22-250, fast twist?

I got mine in 223 with the 1-7. was shooting sub moa at 100 using a front rest with 75gr vld's 25 gr of ar2208 and federal match primers. Mate it's all up to you with the Cali er I've had no experience with th 22-250 so I know little about it.

Will defiantly take this into account, as if i was to get a 223, i would run 75's max

It's really out of 223 or 243, i just get the feeling ill have too much recoil to not get to see the 'splat' and lose picture, its a heavy gun, heavy scope, very good recoil pad.. do you reckon ill lose sight picture or just go with the 223?
