Savage 308 troubles

Change ammo!

+1, I would try some Federal Premium, Winchester, and Black Hills. They all make good ammo with premium hunting bullets.

I tried reloading Core-Lokt's to no avail. There are some guys that there rifles will eat'em up w/o a problem and they are accurate. I just couldn't get them to shoot even with hand loads.

Ten inch groups isn't going to be something simple like the stock touching the barrel or the factory ammo. Send it back to Savage and they'll make it right. I've got a Savage .308 that I'm quite impressed with and at 200 yards it should shoot 5 shots into a CD-rom sized target even with the cheapest ammo.
