11 is a short action. 111 is a long action.

    11 is short action

    111 is long action

Savage does that for all their rifles. Two digits is short action three digits is long action.

406pat was quicker on the draw.

You can always look at the available calibers listed. They will give an indication to what the model chambers. Good choice of rifle by the way.

I would like to have a Remington 700 sps varmint in 25-06 but that is not going to happen. Like the heavy barrel on the Rem

Let point you in this direction.

http://www.savagearms.com/firearms/model/111LONGRANGEHUNTER You can probably find it cheaper than what it is listed for.

Not sure if money is an issue, but this would be the optimum that they offer in this caliber. I was looking for the 110FP which is there Long Action police rifle in 25-06. They must not make it anymore, but it has a 26" heavy barrel. A buddy of mine has one and it shoots very well. You might want to look at gunbroker.com and might be able to find one at a pretty good price. Keep your eyes open for that rifle if you want to stay with Savage. You may find and SPS that fits your budget also.
